Anubeion

The Anubeion refers to a large brick-enclosed precinct on the escarpment of the desert plateau at north Saqqara, situated above ancient Memphis, and which formed the focus a localised cult of the funerary god Anubis in the Late and Ptolemaic Periods of ancient Egypt. Immediately to the south of the Anubeion was located another precinct, the Bubasteion.
