Arthur Evans

Sir Arthur John Evans (born 8 July 1851, Nash Mills, Hemel Hempstead, died 11 July 1941, Youlbury, Oxford) was a British archaeologist best remembered for uncovering the civilization he dubbed "Minoan", a name derived from the ancient Greek legend of Theseus and the Minotaur.
