Gaius Iulius Caesar Octavianus Augustus (23 September 63 BC—19 August, 14 CE) (Latin: IMP•CAESAR•DIVI•F•AVGVSTVS) was both the first Roman emperor (princeps) and first Roman ruler of Egypt after the death by suicide of Cleopatra VII, the last of the Ptolemaic Dynasty.

“Aegyptum imperio populi romani adieci”—“I added Egypt to the rule of the Roman people”.
