Egyptology
From ArchaeoWiki
(Redirected from Egyptologist)
Egyptology represents the scientific study of ancient Egypt, its cultures and antiquities, forming a major thematic and regional branch of the archaeology and history of the Ancient Near East.
Several analogs for Egyptology exist elsewhere within the study of the Ancient Near East, based upon other, neighbouring languages and cultures. These include Assyriology and Hittitology.
