Elkab

Elkab (also el-Kab) was the site of an important settlement and cemetery in Upper Egypt, situated on the east bank of the Nile River opposite the city of Hierakonpolis to effectively form a twin city. Elkab represented the cult centre of the vulture-goddess Nekhbet.
