Heinrich Schliemann

Heinrich Schliemann (6 January 1822 – 26 December 1890) was a pioneering German archaeologist, best known for his early excavations of such Homeric sites as Troy in north-west Anatolia and the sites of Mycenae and Tiryns in Greece.
