Journal of Egyptian Archaeology
From ArchaeoWiki
The Journal of Egyptian Archaeology (JEA) is the primary journal publication of the Egypt Exploration Society (EES), published on an annual basis since 1914.
ISSN 0307-5133
JEA remains one of the better-known and -respected Egyptological journals, issued around the beginning of each year to all Category 1 members of the EES as part of their yearly subscription, and acquired via subscription by a large number of university and Egyptological libraries.
As is normal with Egyptological journals, articles written in other languages—principally German and French—are accepted for publication. (It should be noted, however, that a common perception amongst professional Egyptologists remains that the JEA editorial board requires an inordinately long time to assess and publish submitted articles).
As of the publication of JEA 93 (2007), the Journal's editorial board will be located at the School of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, University of Liverpool, England. The current Editor-in-Chief of the JEA is Dr Mark Collier.
As of mid-2007, the JEA has been made available as part of the online archive of scholarly publications maintained by JSTOR.
