Pharaoh

Pharaoh (Arabic فرعون Firʻawn; Hebrew פַּרְעֹה Parʿō) is an Anglicised form of the Greek adaptation of the ancient Egyptian term pr.(w)-ʿ3 (conventionally normalised as per-a(a)).

Origins and Derivation
The term translates literally as "great house" and referred in the first instance to the palace of the Egyptian ruler, or king, in such titles as smr pr.(w)-ʿ3.
