Description

The site of Ras Shamra covers approximately 28 hectares in surface area, as preserved. There are clear indications, however, that the city in the Late Bronze Age was far larger, the site having experienced considerable erosion, especially on the northern and eastern edges of the mound (up to 30 metres now missing).
