The Sinai Peninsula (Arabic: شبه جزيرة سيناء Shibh Jazirat Sina, Hebrew: סיני), often simply referred to as "the Sinai", is a large triangular peninsula in south-west Asia, forming a land bridge with the continent of Africa.

The Sinai Peninsula is presently part of the territory of the modern state of Egypt. It was occupied and adminstered by the modern state of Israel in the aftermath of the Six Day War in 1967 until its staged return to Egypt with the successful conclusion of an Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty in 1979—from 8 June 1967 until final withdrawal on 26 April 1982.
