Stone Block with nbw-Sign, Tel Gezer
From ArchaeoWiki
A Stone Block inscribed with a large nbw-Sign was excavated in Stewart Macalister's excavations of Gezer in the first decade of the twentieth century. The stone was found loose, without particular architectural context.
According to Macalister the stone was found at V 30 B.
There is no record of the precise material employed.
Dimensions: 3’7” x 1’10” by 1’9” (1.09 m x 0.56 m x 0.53 m)
At one end of the stone appears a "deeply incised" hieroglyphic sign: nbw, "gold".
Macalister interpreted the stone as having once belonged to an impressive building embellished with hieroglyhic inscriptions.
