Tell Beit Mirsim

Tell Beit Mirsim is an archaeological site, the remains of an ancient settlement mound some 7.5 acres in area, situated at the transition between the Shephelah and the Hebron Hills, some 25 km (15 miles) NNE of Beersheba and 20 km (12 miles) south-west of Hebron.
Map Reference 141.096, elevation 497 m ASL.
The site was first investigated by William Foxwell Albright in 1924, leading to his identification of the site with the ancient city of Debir. This identification is now largely rejected by scholars.
