Transjordan
From ArchaeoWiki
Transjordan refers to those territories "across the Jordan", that is, broadly to the east of the River Jordan.
It is used widely as a general archaeological term and has in modern times been variously employed, first as part of the name of a political subdivision of the British Mandate of Palestine from 1921 until its independence in 1946, thereafter as a short-lived inclusion in the designation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan from 1946 until April 1949.
