Tyre

Tyre (Phoenician: Ṣur; Hebrew: צור Tzor, Tiberian Hebrew: צר Ṣōr; Akkadian: Ṣurru; Greek: Τύρος Týros; Arabic: صور Ṣūr) is an important archaeological site at the heart of the modern city. Tyre is located on the Phoenician coast of present-day Lebanon, some 23 miles north of Acre and 20 miles south of Sidon.
