Yizhar Hirschfeld

Yizhar Hirschfeld (1949-2006) was an Israeli archaeologist, his specialism the study of Eretz-Israel and the Near East in the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods.

Before his premature death due to sudden illness, Professor Hirschfeld had been director of renewed excavations at Tiberias.
